I think what you’re saying is that there needs to be more focus on inspiring students to start learning of their own accord. I think the current system pays lip service to this notion, but doesn’t actually deliver it.
Great interview! Lucky children in Wales if they are moving to a more open curriculum.
I hadn’t realised the personalisation agenda – at least in its learner focus – has some roots in Plowden Report.
Great points:
More holistic – less subject-based; learning to make connections between subjects – I think this crucial to future education.
Developing thinking skills – learning how to learn, different ways of learning, use skills in variety of settings, get away from useless cramming – all good, thanks Colin and Rhiannon.
